Workout Wednesday~~ooops, where did Wednesday go?

Yes, Wednesday passed me by and my post didn't appear!
So let's just call this 'The Thursday Thought from Wednesday'! ha!
So as you can gather from the title, 'working out, exercise, moving' is my most recent personal challenge!
What is on my mind right now...'WORK-OUT'!
stamps: Penny Black 'chicky work-out'; papers: SU and MME; inks: Memento Black and Copics

I joined a gym last month and started off strong the first two weeks.  THEN, all of a sudden I didn't have time to go (or I didn't want to get up that early~)!  I was 'absent' for two weeks, it was the end of our school season and I had to get used to my son being home.
I knew I had to get myself motivated again, 'cause I was feeling so good after working out!

Do you know Rhonna Farrer?  Rhonna Farrer of Rhonna Designs
(Rhonna was 1/3 of the fabulous House of 3)?
Well, if you don't know Rhonna, you've got to visit her blog HERE!
She is such a multi-talented gal who amongst everything else that she does,
also hosts "the 21 Challenge" every year!
You can work on one of your goals, while at the same time inspire your creativity!
You know the old saying, "it takes 21 days to create a habit"...have you ever tried that?
It IS so true!

Even though Rhonna is not doing the 21 Challenge right this moment, I have decided to apply this to my life in the way of exercising. I haven't created an exercise journal (hmmmm, this would be a good project to start one soon), but I am really trying to stick with a workout program for 21 days, and then strive for success by continuing to actively exercise regularly!

So what am I doing, you ask? I joined one of my local Curves locations and am doing some form of exercise EVERY day.
I am on Day 11 of exercising every day!
Wow, is it already Day 11?
I've made it halfway to 21 days...woohoo!

Here's what I have done so far:
Day 1: (Monday): Core workout (yup, I was sore the next day!)
Day 2: Zumba workout (2-30 minute sessions...woohoo!)
Day 3: Regular workout
Day 4: Zumba workout
Day 5: Regular workout
Day 6: Zumba workout
Day 7: Walking (Curves is closed on Sunday. You really should have one day of rest, but I really wanted to stay active and walking felt good!)
Day 8: Core workout
Day 9: Zumba workout (2-30 minute sessions...woohoo!)
Day 10: Regular workout
Day 11: Regular workout

In my experience, having a friend to workout with really gives you that extra push to go do it! It's the thing about being 'accountable'...you know, committing and taking action. Well, we also send text messages to remind each other that "we are going tomorrow", or "I'm leaving in 5 minutes", or "I'm here, where are you?", or "I worked out and I feel great, did you go today?".

So  I'm on day 11 and will forge ahead, to make it to Day 21!

If you are thinking about your health and feeling good, or just getting active...I guarantee that working out will help you feel good about yourself...I do! I try to go in the mornings most of the time to kick start my day, but I also go in the afternoons when some of the classes are held. Oh and by the way, I have another friend who joined us too for some of the workouts!
The more the merrier...so call a friend today and motivate each other
...it is SO worth it!

I may start a new tab at the top of my blog for Workout Wednesday to keep my workouts documented and post weekly rants about how it's going.
(If I write something down I will try harder to stick to it,
which is why I'm blogging about this goal!)
Okay, so now I have said this O.U.T. L.O.U.D.!
I AM COMMITTED TO MOVING E.V.E.R.Y. DAY!
Whew, that felt good!
Hope your day 'works out'! *smile*

A Fisk-A-What?

Guess what???
  I am a Fiskateer!

Blinkies

What is a Fiskateer and how did I become one you ask?
A Fiskateer is an ambassador for crafting
and for Fiskars, of course!

One Saturday in May...
I went to a fav LSS 'Crop Girls' because they were having a make n take with  Fiskateers.
I thought, hmmm, I've heard of Fiskateers before, but what actually is a Fiskateer?
So I had to go to Crop Girls to check it out.
Well I met these fun gals,
Tami Bayer
(who happens to one of the four Lead Fiskateers) and
Sandy
(a Fiskateer in Arizona and I think she has been one for many years).

They were both helping out with the awesome card that we all made (Tami's creation)
(and during this time, I realized that I had never used a Fiskars punch...can you believe that)?
You know the Fiskars brand, so I'm sure I don't have to say anything more.

Here is the card that we made, using this fabulous
Fiskars Easy Squeeze Postage Stamp Punch
along with the Postage Stamp Border Punch...
isn't this card absolutely cute?!!!

We also used Jillibean papers and Fiskars Fresh Fruit Simple Stick Stamps, along with some twine and a white gel pen.  Oh, and inside is the cutest sentiment with a frame (sorry I didn't take a photo)!

The Fiskateers were so nice and invited us to check out the
Fiskateers blog and site, so you know I did that!
Here's Tami's Fiskateers page on the blog, if you'd like to take a peek
and maybe YOU want to join in and be a Fiskateer too:
and take a look at the calendar, while you are there, you never know when a Fiskateer will be around your area!
(Also, there is a big event coming up in the Fall and it's happening across the country
where Fiskateers are going to get together!)

I've already met a few Arizona Fiskateers...how fun is that?!
Just the other day Tami put out a challenge to make a flower rosette like those of a fellow Fiskateer, Dot;
and Dot made a video tutorial too.
We are to use Fiskars border punches in this challenge,
so I chose to use the Postage Stamp Border Punch.
Here is my card with the flower and I also used my
{ippity} The Man stamp set:
Papers and inks are all SU.

Sorry, this post was so long...I think I talk too much sometimes!

Thank you for coming by and hearing about some new 'fun' I have found.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Yay, Fiskateers!

It's all about Bookmarks!

Guess what?
I'm a Unity Endorsed {ippity} chick
Okay, you knew that, right? *smile*

Today, it's ALL about 'bookmarks'!
With Father's Day coming up,
I made a variety of simple bookmarks to share with you!
They are so easy that you can whip some up in no time.

The shirt on the left is a magnetic bookmark;
and the others are 'origami' bookmarks:

Click on the picture for a more detailed view.

The origami bookmarks are so easy and if you'd like to try them,
take a look at Carolina's tutorial over at SCS by clicking HERE.
Isn't that Fiskars Postage Stamp Punch awesome?
I double layered it so that it had a hint of a shadow with black cardstock.

The magnetic bookmark is made from
Spellbinders Labels Three and paper piecing.
I even put one of the litttle stamped messages on the inside of the bookmark.
The slim magnets are underneath the 1" punched circles
...these slim magnets by Basic Grey are awesome and strong!

 Click on the picture for a more detailed view.

Here's a view of how the thin bookmark looks in action
(you never want too much bulk or it'll ruin your pages...at least that's what I think):
 Click on the picture for a more detailed view.

Here's the larger origami bookmark in action...see, it fits perfectly:
 Click on the picture for a more detailed view.

Here's a pic of all of the bookmarks in a book...not bulky and they stay put!

Here are some of the tools that I used:

Did you know that we are showcasing our {ippity} creations
EVERY Monday?
Did you know you can join in with your {ippity} creations on the linky too?

and link up on the {ippity} blog,

Here we are again with {ippity}!

There has been some awesome eye-candy that everyone is creating with this new {ippity} release, don't ya think?!!!
Don't forget to drop by the {ippity} blog for a chance to win $20 gift certificate
(see my Sunday post for more details)

I wanted to do create something a little different today.  Since I had the mini popsicle sticks still sitting on my desk from Monday's project, I made this little picket fence and added some stamped {ippity} flowers, that could sit on someone's desk (or mine).
I used the flowers, leaf and sentiment from the set:

(click on the pic for more detail)

So what do you think?
I glued my picket fence together (and it does stand up by itself), then sponged it with my Palette Burnt umber Hybrid Ink.  Cut some grass with my Martha Stewart scissors (the ones with multiple blades) and adhered to the fence.
I stamped my flowers and leaves using more Palette Hybrid Ink in Moulin Rouge and Veridian Leaf, onto My Mind's Eye Magnolia collection papers.  After I cut them out and I added some bling and/or buttons in the centers.  I used green wire to make the stems and then glued them to the bottom of the picket fence so I could still twist them to a form.
This was actually a fun little project.

I am entering my desk flowers into Jenny's
Wee Memories Anything Goes "Free for All" Challenge
She's got some terrific challenges too!

Another Day of {ippity} here!

New Releases from {ippity}...YAY!
Today, I am sharing a card that I made using
The Best
which is inspired by the SCS Sketch Challenge from Wednesday, SC335.

(Click on the picture to see more detail.)

All of us {ippity} chicks are showcasing either The Best and/or My True Joy today!

I used four stamps from The Best and it's really an awesome set to work with!
The b/g is the Kraft Glassine papers from Tim Holtz...feels kinda like wax paper with more of a coating and really dry embosses so easy! I used Tim's 'Collage' Texture Fades folder.

Blog Update:  Tim has a post on June 7th, 2011 for more ideas on the Glassine papers!

Isn't that ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon gorgeous?  I love it!

Don't forget to go visit the {ippity} blog for the details and links for today's fun,
and
also make sure to join in our first challenge: Anything but a Card!

If you have any questions about any of our {ippity} line, new or old,

if YOU need any {ippity},
I would love to be YOUR {ippity} chick!

Thank you for your business!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is a party going on today!
I am so excited to have the latest {ippity} release in my hands
...and I know YOU will absolutely love them too!
The {ippity} blog has now gone live again, and there is a hop over there to show some of the {ippity} chicks' creations with this new release!
Take a look and you will also find that there are a couple of prizes to be given away too
...who wouldn't want a $20 gift certificate???
Plus, YOU could pick which {ippity} chick that you want to use it at!
Take a look at what I created for the hop and for our NEW {ippity} challenge:
ANYTHING BUT A CARD!
(Click on photo for more detailed view)
I used the new {ippity} set:  New Season, New Wonder and I have it in stock just for you!
Isn't this diaper fold pouch cute?
I cut and shredded some cardstock to fill it
(and I think I'm going to add some candy to make it 'sweet'...LOL).
I stamped and clear embossed a couple of the images to give them some texture, and then colored them with my Copics to give them some depth.
Then I put them on mini ice cream sticks to put in my pouch.
I also stamped the 'sweet' sentiment on a mini file folder so that I could write something to the person I give it to.
You can also see some ribbon, Spellbinders dies, punches, and buttons that I used on this project.
Then the surprise:
You can pull the mini ice cream sticks out of the pouch and
I wrote little messages on each!
Wouldn't this make you smile?
Thank you so much for visiting me today...I am honored to share my creations with you!
Don't forget to visit the {ippity} blog to try to win some prizes and enter our first challenge too!
And of course...
if YOU need any {ippity},
