A Songbird Serenade for you...Friends with Flair

Listen...do you hear the songbird singing away?  Are you whistling to the lovely tune?  Well, if you aren't, then I hope this card can help to bring that happy tune to you today!  And, if you are whistling already, then twirl around the room and celebrate what makes you happy today!

Friends with Flair makes ME happy today...something I think many of us look forward to...Unity Friends with Flair...especially when I can play with the February KOM--Nothing but Blue Skies...what a fun day!

I created this card for last week's inspiration challenge on the Unity blog:  FWF13.  I actually just uploaded it late last night, so it was a little late...okay, at least I did the challenge...just gotta work on getting the uploads done earlier!  I was inspired by Lisa's card by the polka dots and layered coffee cups...here I have my polka dots and layered birdies.  Also entered this into the 'thinking of you' category for Moxie Fab:

Happy H{ippity} Hop Monday to you!

Do you ever get a stamp set and then realize that you haven't inked up every stamp in that set?  Well, I realized that I had not inked up the barn and the tree in the {ippity} Simply Home stamp set.  So, I did lots of 'cutting out' and decided to create an evening scene...sun going down, lights on in the barn house, darkened sky:

I layered the barn house 3 times to give a variation of dimension...(I wish they made pop dots/dimensionals in colors other than white!):

White and Black...no Gray

Haaaaaappy Friends with Flair Friday!  Unity has got some awesome new mojo going on...take a look at the blog here and the FWFF blog participants are listed here as well!

I was playin' with my Unity January KOM--Savor the Journey, and I kept thinking lace, and black and white.  So....I found a big roll of ribbon lace in my stash.  You know the stash you forget about, or don't want to use it...yet!  Then, I remembered that Heidi Swapp is putting lots of frill with crepe paper in her projects...oh well, I couldn't find any crepe paper in my stash, so...

I love the circle frame that is in this kit, so I embossed it in white on black cardstock.  Then, I decided to use the lace ribbon and bunch it up on one of the openings of my cards, added some half pearls, a little ribbon, and poof...here's what I made (sorry for the terrible lighting):

And here are two more:

There sure are a lot of 'F's' in my title, huh?  Now say it fast 3 times...friends with flair friday february fifth, friends with flair friday february fifth, friends with flair friday february fifth...!  *smile*

Always an {ippity} Monday to go Hippity Hoppity

Hi ya girlies!  I've been playing with different techniques lately...I'm sharing a card that I dry embossed on vellum and entered it into two challenges:

First, of course, the  {ippity} challenge IHHC8...to make a shaped card...so do ya think this card looks like a lampshade?
Second, the SCS featured stamper challenge FS156 BUTTERFLYEARS...to case something from Nichole's gallery, which I CASE'd her lampshade!   If you'd like you can take a look at her lampshade that I CASE'd here...I think her lampshade is fabulous!

I shaped the card to look like a lamp shade using my old scallop scissors for the top and bottom of the card; stamped the images with Staz-on on the front of the vellum, dry embossed the images from the back, and colored them with SU markers...it gave the color much softer tones when coloring from behind the images.  I didn't have enough pearls to place on the scallop edges, so I made them out of Moonlight Smooch:
From Unity Projects
Here's the inside of the card with a quick sentiment that says ' always...in my life'.  You can see how the dry embossing raised the images on the vellum for some cool texture:

Stamps: Unity {ippity} Because of You
C/S: Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Black Staz-On
Accessories: Moonlight Smooch, SU Markers: Summer Sun, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, embossing tool, scallop scissors

If you would like to purchase this {ippity} Because of You set, you can purchase it from me HERE

Hope you have a great time taking in all the {ippity} goodness that everyone is sharing today!  Thanks for coming by!
