HHH Friday!

Hello Unity friends! I am sharing two cards that I made for the Unity HH challenges.

First, I made this card for the Unity ta ta ta Texture challenge. I used my Big Shot embossing folder on the Basic Gray background, roughed up the edges of the Basic Gray and Real Red cardstock. For more texture, I used my Scor-Pal to score some lines on the Elegant Eggplant c/s, then sanded those lines. Used Watercolor Wonder crayons and a blender pen to color, put some stickles on the heart and finally, added red ribbon with a bow.

Second, I made this one for the Unity da da da Doodle challenge. I doodled frames around the inchies and doodled the image with dots instead of coloring...I didn't like the end result, but isn't this what creativity is all about...trial and error:

Unity Hip Hop Hangovers are FANTABULOUS!

This is where the customers get to show their creations using Unity stamps...this has been sooooo fun!

I can't believe that I have been absent from the forums for more than a week...I'm having Unity withdrawals!!! What? You ask if there is such a thing "Unity withdrawals"???? YES, THERE IS!!!

School started on Monday, so I've had to take my son to get his last minute school supplies, did some last minute shoe shopping; and since I'm the PTSO's Volunteer Coordinator, I've been on the phone lots recruiting volunteers for upcoming events. I was at the school for two days in a row helping out with the Campus Walk-Thru (and recruiting more volunteers), and have been working at their Snack Shack this week helping to sell gym clothes to the kids who still had to buy them...tomorrow is my last day there to sell gym clothes....so it's been reeeeeeally busy and I look forward to the weekend!!! Then I have company coming on Sunday...

Sorry, got off track there...okay, onto my card...I made these cards very late for Jeanne's challenges (and of course, did not get to submit them)...this one is for the Unity Color Challenge...use GREEN, BLUE and RED. I used a little "Smooch around the edges of the white c/s and for the grass under the tree...you can't tell too much on the photo, but it does stand out IRL:

Another...SU! Case the Catty swap..."sort of"...post...

Well, here are a couple of items that I made for this "case the catty...sort of" swap. The first is a book mark, #147c. I added a wish list to pull out of the bookmark to make it easy for someone to write down their wish list of products to order, and you can stamp your contact info on the front of the bookmark or on the wish list:

Stamps: Taking Care of Business
C/S: Old Olive, Soft Suede, Whisper White card stock, Crushed Curry
Ink: Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write markers
Accessories: Button Latte Designer buttons, dimensionals; blender pens;
Scallop Edge Punch, 1/16" Circle and 1-1/4" Circle punches; linen thread

This next card is 143a. This looks like a really simple card so, I tried to stamp the words by just stamping independently, but it was really tough to get it straight. I had to bring out my Stamp-a-ma-jig in order to align the stamp. After a few tries, it finally came out decent:

SU! Case the Catty swap..."sort of"...

Wow, I've been absent for over a week and time sure does fly by!

I'm sharing a couple of items that I made for a swap "case the catty...sort of". The "sort of" part is not having to use the same colors, embellishments, etc.

For this first project, I CASE'd projects in the SU! catty: 78a and 78b. I used a cellophane bag (instead of a paper bag) for the goodie bag, and also changed it from a football theme to a baseball theme (I LUV baseball!)

Here's the finished goodie bag and 3x3 card to go with it. The star and circle hold the blue flap down to close the bag from the front:

From Stampin' Up! Only Cards and Projects
Stamps: Just Baseball, Sporting
C/S: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red
Accessories: Large Star and Star Punches; 1-1/4", 1", and 3/4" Circle Punches; Clear Embossing Powder; Bold Brights Brads, Cellophane Bag

This next card is from the Catty 124a, which I used Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware instead of Styled Silver, and did some faux stitching instead of sewing:

Stamps: Puns from the Past
C/S: So Saffron, Basic Gray, Naturals White
Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron
Accessories: Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, White Gel Pen, Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Color Spritzer Tool (for the black specks on the gray c/s)

Thanks for letting me share!

Hip Hop Hangover with Unity!

Oh my, what are we gonna do with only a few more Unity HH's left? Well, September 1st Unity is going to "step it up", so we are all wondering...if there is no Hip Hop, what will it be? Waiting, waiting, waiting...I'm sure it'll be even better, but we won't know till September 1st...I have patience, I have patience, I have patience!

In the meantime, go check out Unity's 30% sale...get it now!

I made the card below for one of Unity's challenges, which was to use at least 3 buttons on your project. I also used the "striped wipe" technique from Beate on SCS. The heart was stamped on glossy paper after I applied the swiped wipe technique (SU! Brocade Blue and Very Vanilla re-inkers; Tim Holtz Distress Stickles--Vintage Photo and baby wipes) ..let me know what you think:

Stampin' Up! Only Swap Cards

Just sharing a couple of cards for a recent swap. I hadn't posted for a week, due to "technical difficulties"...*smile*.

This first card is from SU's new set, Autumn Days. I love this set matched up with the In Colors. I distresed some edges, embossed the bird in clear embossing powder(which you can see in the second photo) and also used the Small Dots big shot plate for a little texture on my background:

From Stampin' Up! Only Cards and Projects

Here's the embossed bird, which I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I had to make sure that I embossed over the stamped image (stamped in Soft Suede, then stamped in Versamark and clear embossed):

Stamps: Autumn Days
C/S: Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

Ink: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Accessories: : Clear Embossing Powder, Dusty Durango Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Texturz Background #1: Small Dots, distressing tool

For this next card, I saw a card on SCS and had to case this card from "darhm". Click on her name in quotes above and you could see her card. I have the new Movers and Shapers Punch Windows and had to try out the Modern Label die. It goes perfect with the Modern Label Punch, as the punch can fit just inside the Modern Label die window. I added the Eyelet Border Punch to the bottom edge and added more color (all SU! In Colors)...thanks for the idea Darlene!:
