Triple "H" today!

Hip Hop Hangover

Yes, I am hooked, and this habit is so fun! What am I talking about...well Unity's Hip Hop and Hip Hop Hangover! Yesterday's HH was so inspiring! Every single one of Unity's Design Team showcased such powerful creativity on their blogs.

Time was very scarce for me yesterday, but I was able to participate in some of the Hip Hop and one of Jeanne's challenges--to make a birthday card without using conventional birthday stamps. I chose to make a card for Unity's 1st birthday which I am sure was "a day to remember":
From Unity Projects

Stamps: Unity Doo Dads, March KOTM
C/S: SU Basic Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Hand Drawn DSP
Ink: Basic Black, SU Markers
Accessories: Baja Breeze Grosgrain Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Black Gingham Ribbon, Stickles

Thank you so much for hopping by and thanks for giving everyone some "luv" on their blogs...have a great weekend!

Happy Mail!

Don't you just love it when you get "happy mail"? ...like a swap that you've been participating in, and it finally arrives? ...like an order from Unity that arrives so quickly? ...like a prize that you forgot you won?

Yup, I love "happy mail"! I went to the mailbox last night and I received an envelope from a friend, Ky! Go visit her blog here, for some great creations! She had a scrapbook page contest and she picked mine, and I won Unity's "Spunky Princess" from her! This stamp set was created to support a little girl TAYLOR JONES, who has Leukemia, AML. Unity donates $5 to Taylor's family for every set sold...go take a look at Unity's site and purchase this set (if you haven't already), in honor of Taylor Jones. You can also keep up to date on Taylor's progess, here.

Thank you so much for this set Ky...it is a special prize!

Can I get at Hip Hop...Hangover, that is?!

Here we are again, on the Unity Hip Hop Hangover! Wow, I can't believe how the week went by so fast.
Here's my first card for the "Hole-y" challenge, which was to pierce your cardstock. So...this card used stamps from the Unity KOTM for August 2008 "remember HAPPINESS" and background stamp "Royal Day". I had no mojo, so I ended up case'ing this card and I changed a few things on it:
From Unity Projects

Stamps: Unity KOTM-August 2008, remember HAPPINESS, Royal Day
C/S: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Piourette, Perfect Plum, Confetti White, DSP Bella Rose
Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Piourette, Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum
Accessories: Stickles, Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Tool Kit

I made the next card for the Unity "Bow" challenge...to place a bow on the card. I used my new stamp "Plant a Tree" that I received from last week's HH...
From Unity Projects

Stamps: Unity Plant a Tree
C/S: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, DSP Cerise
Inks: Basic Brown, SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stickles, Apple Brad, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Tool Kit

Happy Easter!

This is just a quick note to say "HAPPY EASTER" to all!
I have been playing around with my blog tonight, changing the background, columns, fonts, colors...so there may be constant change until I find something that I am satisfied with. I am rather exhausted from all the changes that I have tried, and I think I have actually tried every color available...they are all looking the same to me right now, so it's time to let it go for now, and see what I can do tomorrow!
I am very happy though that I was able to change my blog from a two-column to a three-column...yay!
HAPPY EASTER!

It's Unity Happy Hip Hop Hangover Again!

Hello Hip Hop Hangover gals...it's Friday...woohoo! This morning, I'm at my son's Easter Baseball Tournament...he has a game at 8:30a and another at 1p...so I'll join up on the blog hopping late, late this afternooon!
What a blast Hip Hop was yesterday...I think I kept the thread at SCS open most of the day, just so I could come and go all day! And, guess what? UNITY is such a great stamp company with so many sales and incentives...and, I "won" two stamps...can I hear a "woohoo"?! It was my lucky day, 'cause I also won the scrap page challenge from Ky on the posting below, so go take a look at some of her awesome projects here...can I get another "woohoo"?!

Okay, on with my postings for you...Jeanne posted two challenges:
First, was a "Unity Any Time" challenge...to make a card or project using Unity stamps that could be given anytime (not a specific occasion). So, I figured you can send a "hello" card with some Unity Luv...er, I mean wine (see how I labeled the bottle)...to talk, to celebrate, to cry, or for any occasion, right?:
From Unity Projects
Stamps: Unity Mix Up of Cuteness, Winerack, Royal Day Background
Paper: SU Juntos DSP, Apricot Appeal, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Inks: Alwlays Artichoke, Apricot Appeal
Accessories: Stickles, Key Tag punch, Word Window Punch, Crimper, Brads, Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon

The second was a "Unity Thinks Green" challenge...to use something you would find in nature. On this card my focal point was using the trees from Itsy Bitsy Giggle Stamp set, and I recycled the paper that some recent Unity stamps were packed with (the background paper):
From Unity Projects

Stamps: Unity Distressed Dots Background, Itsy Bitsy Giggle Stamps, Mix of Cuteness
Paper: SU! Kraft, Mellow Moss
Inks: Mellow Moss, Basic Brown, Watercolor Crayons
Accessories: Twine, eyelets, distressing tool

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY...make sure to visit all of the blogs listed here at the Unity Blog, to enjoy all the wonderful Unity happiness from all the wonderful Unity addicts!
HAPPY HIP HOP HANGOVER!

Page for Ky's Challenge!

Well, I'm rushing again...just had to post this page for Ky's challenge...it has to be posted within a few minutes! I hope that I got it all correct! The challenge was to:
1. use more than one photo
2. journal more than date/time - say why your selection is dear to you.
3. use something you've created for another purpose on your page (like, a card!)

Well, this page is celebrating our time with family, especially "cousins". We went to California on Spring Break and visited everyone! If you look at the first photo it looks like only one, but if you look at the second photo...the pull out card has another photo...does this qualify? Also, I journaled a little more than the date and time; and I actually created the flower pot card for a SCS challenge from Monday!

Here's the pull out card:

And here's a close-up of the little faces stamps...they are soooo cute...did I mention this is the Unity Stamp Set "Middle School Madness"?!!!

Just a couple of Stampin' Up Swaps...

OH WOW, IT'S APRIL FOOL'S DAY! I realized when my son came home from school and said that he did awful in him AIM's testing at school. Then, I thought, wait a minute...one the subjects for today was "math"...he loves math...heck he's in pre-algebra for 7th grade...what? a bad day today? Then...of course, he said April Fools! hee hee
Okay, I wanted to share a couple of things:
First, I joined a "Tag Swap" with a great group of ladies and everyone created some wonderful tags. On my tag, I used the Big Shot for cutting and embossing. I wanted it to be two layers, so I placed the embossed vellum on top of the flower stamped Very Vanilla textured cardstock (flowers show through the vellum). I needed a little dimension, so I popped up the butterfly.
For more of the tag recipe see the information below the picture. TFL!

I am also in a Monthly Swap to exchange cards (of any kind) with a fantastic group of gals. The card that I made for March has some white embossing powder and some Crystal Effects (on top of the cupcake--may not be showing too well on the photo).
For more of the card recipe see the information below the picture. TFL!
